4 Out-of-the-Box Ideas to Make Life Easier for You & Your New Miniature Husky Puppy

Bringing a new miniature husky puppy home can be fun, but it can also be challenging. You and your puppy will be getting used to a new routine. Having a new puppy is a lot like having a newborn. Here are a few helpful hints that will make life with your new miniature Siberian husky puppy much more pleasant for you both.

Make Miniature Husky Bed Time Better with White Noise

I hate to break it to you, but when you bring a new puppy home, you’re effectively surrendering your right to interrupted sleep. Your new puppy will want to sleep with you in your bed but this isn’t ideal. Make the process a bit easier by turning on your TV on a channel that doesn’t come in, or unplugging your cable box. The TV snow, on low volume provides suitable background noise to help reassure your puppy when he or she is sleeping alone.

Make Puppy Piddles a Pain No More

Your puppy won’t be able to hold his or her bladder until after he or she is 12 weeks old. Until then, you can expect an accident or two. If you have carpet, this can be an issue. It’s fairly inexpensive to get rid of a small amount of urine by pouring baking soda atop the mess and let it soak up the wetness. You can then vacuum up the baking soda and not have to worry over nasty urine smells.

Help Your Miniature Husky Puppy Pace His Eating

Sometimes puppies can get excited and scarf down their food too quickly. This can lead to diarrhea or upchucking. You can help your pup avoid this behavior by putting an OVERSIZE tennis ball into his or her bowl. Your pup won’t be able to gulp down his food in just one bite.

DIY Pill Pockets for Your Miniature Siberian Husky

Miniature Siberian huskies have a mind of their own. Sometimes they can be stubborn when it comes to taking necessary pills or vitamins. You can overcome this fairly quickly by slicing a hot dog end off and poking your knife in the center of the cut off end to create a place to stuff the pill. Your pup will be so busy enjoying this treat, he or she will swallow the pill inside the hot dog with no fuss.

We hope these little hints will help make life with your new pup as enjoyable as possible. As always, we’re always there for advice for the life your Miniature Husky. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions about your pup for the rest of your pup’s life.
